Primary Function Performs and evaluates diagnostic testing to provide accurate and reliable laboratory results. Treats abnormal results according to policies and procedures. Reviews, follows and understands established laboratory quality assurance and quality control procedures. Performs and documents maintenance and troubleshooting procedures on laboratory instrumentation to ensure proper operation. Organizes and directs the training of new employees and/or students. Assists supervisor in the daily operations of the section(s) assigned. Complies with Laboratory Safety and Infection Control policies to ensure a safe work environment. Maintains professional growth and development. Compassionate Service - Placing the needs of those we serve above our own; treating individuals with dignity, respect and empathy. Maintains confidentiality in all aspects of the job. Performs other related duties as requested.

Qualifications
Education:
Baccalaureate degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or an appropriate Biological, Chemical, or Physical Sciences degree, or equivalent combination of education and experience. ASCP or NCA certified.

Experience:
Minimum of three years of related hospital laboratory experience. Strong background in hematology, coag, and special coag procedures preferred.
